Fried Locust

To test our
FlexiGUI developers framework we needed a simple game with different levels that require a different look and feel. It also had to run on pc and touch devices using the mouse on pc's and the internal gyroscope on the iPad/iPhone for steering. The test would be successful if no additional code would have to be written in the game logic for either platform.

So we came up with "Fried Locust".
You're a butterfly on a small and beautiful planet. However, the galaxy is threatened by a plague of locusts that eat all plant life in their path. You can kill the locusts by frying them with an electric charge from your antennae.

The universe can be a lonely place
Your home planet is surrounded by 4 other planets that have already fallen to doom, but still serve as a breeding ground for the locusts who can make interplanetary jumps. So you will have to travel to those outer planets as well and kill enough locusts to stop them from breeding.

Don't mess with the lady
The GUI layout on the home planet is made up of white panels decorated with flowers and a playful font. When you fly in your spaceship, the GUI changes to purple panels with neon tubes and a NASA font. When you reach one of the devastated planets, the GUI changes to grey/brown with an scary font.

The danger comes from outer space
The user input is handles through internal joystick definitions. The steering joystick is connected to the gyroscope on a touch device and to the mouse movement on a PC.
